Gene Autry's childhood

Gene Autry began singing and playing the guitar at an early stage in his career. He later started working as a telegrapher and a freight handler on the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad. In 1928, Gene was featured on a local radio broadcast and made his first recordings. Gene made his movie debut in Ken Maynard’s “In Old Santa Fe” in 1931. Gene starred in 13 episodes of a serial series for Mascot Pictures in 1934. He signed a contract for Republic Pictures in 1935 and began making westerns.

Gene Autry was a young boy who spent summers in Oklahoma as a yodeling cowboy. In 1929, he signed his debut record deal with Mascot Pictures Corp.. He also recorded his first hit song "That Silver-Haired Daddy of Mine". The song became a hit and sold more than one million copies. It was also the first gold album. Ina Sivey, a former telegram operators, married him in 1934. After his Hollywood debut in "In Old Santa Fe," Gene Autry starred in several films, including the leading role in the western movie "Tumbling Tumbleweeds".

In 1928, a young Gene Autry traveled to New York to seek a recording contract. The young artist quickly returned to Tulsa in Oklahoma and started performing on radio. Autry's song list was, however, somewhat unclear as he recorded popular songs written by the best bandleaders of the day. He recorded, "Jingle, Jangle" & "Blueberry Hill", songs originally recorded by Glen Miller. Later, the song became a Autry hit. Despite his success, however, he remained a humble cowboy.

Roy Rogers is a well-known association, but what do you know about his life? Leonard Franklin Slye, an American actor, singer, and musician, was born in 1911. He was born in Cincinnati. He grew to be a farmer in Duck Run before moving to Ohio to work as a shoemaker. He eventually made his way to California and became a prominent radio personality. After graduating from school, he joined Bob Nolan's Pioneer Trio and musicians Tim Spencer. The group's name was later changed to Sons of the Pioneers.

Rogers, in addition to being a cowboy, also had a singing career. Rogers teamed up to the Sons Of The Pioneers to release a few singles including Hi-Yo Silver.
