Which percentage of the box offices goes to marketing budgets and what is their share?

Marketing budgets usually account for anywhere from 20%-40% of a film's budget. This is because marketing is critical to the success and longevity of any film.

No one will know about your film if you don't do good marketing. People won't pay for it if they don’t know about it.

Why is Hollywood so famous?

D.W. Griffith established the first film industry in California, 1887. It was named for its Los Angeles location, also known as Hollywood at that time.

It was an exciting place to visit and the name stuck. People would travel all the way from other countries to see what was happening.

Hollywood is still an integral part of American culture. We have movies. There are also music videos. Commercials. These are all known as Hollywood.

What is the difference in an indie film and one made in a foreign language?

Independent films are usually made by one filmmaker who makes all of the decisions.

A foreign language film, on the other hand is usually produced by a larger production crew.

They often hire writers and actors from other nations.

Professional translators are also available to ensure that the dialogue sounds natural.

Do I have the right to start my own distribution firm?

No. A distributor is required to operate a distribution firm.

Even though you may not be distributing other people's films, you still have to follow certain rules.

You can't, for example, charge different prices to different theaters. You can't charge different fees for different customers.

You also can't sell your services to other companies.

Is Hollywood larger than Bollywood?

Film producers face the greatest challenge: how to get their movie noticed by the audience.

There are so many movies out there competing for your time and money. It's hard to stand out among the rest and get noticed.

What makes a movie a success? What makes an actor or director famous? Or a director? It's not just talent - it's also luck. You might have all the best actors in the world, but if they're working on a bad script, nothing will come of it.

When it comes to movies, there are two main types. There are big-budget blockbusters as well as small independent productions. Blockbuster films can cost hundreds and millions of dollars to make and distribute. These movies are often made by large studios that want their films to reach as many people as possible. But these big-budget films tend to appeal mainly to older audiences.

Independent films are generally smaller-scale productions that may be financed by individuals or groups of investors. These films tend to target niche markets and are tailored to specific tastes. These films are typically less expensive to produce and sell. This doesn't necessarily mean they are cheaper to watch. It is actually very difficult to find most indie movies.

The question is: Do we really need both types of movies? What are the best movies for independent cinema? Hollywood is much bigger than Bollywood. Hollywood produces twice as many movies per annum than India.
