Incubus has donated $1 million to various causes. Incubus also became a part the "green" movement, avoiding single-use water bottles. To encourage a healthier and more environmentally-conscious concert goer experience, the band uses water stations installed at various venues. Fans can either use the water station as a source of drinking water or buy a refillable bottle at a vending machine.

The Village Fund

The Village Fund for musicians charities has three main focuses: music, education, and health. The grants are distributed quarterly. The Village Fund is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Fans can join the conversation by sharing videos featuring their favorite folk songs. These videos should be linked to the Village Fund's donation webpage and include the hashtag #ForPetesSakeDonate. Pete Seeger, a folk singer, social activist and author of many folk tunes, was the fund's creator. The FAI has been a long-time supporter of Seeger's work and was even an early participant.

Folk Alliance International administers The Village Fund. It is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to support folk musicians and independent music industry professionals. The organization was founded in 1999 and has provided grants of more than $55,000 to musicians across the U.S. and Canada. The organization invites musicians to perform for donations to increase its reach. Musicians can apply by registering using their name and social platform. They will also need to post a link or live stream of their pre-uploaded video.

How To

How to get a Hollywood Walk of Fame star

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in 1960 established the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The HWOF is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. It is composed of 2,711 stars embedded into sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents an individual who contributed to popular culture, such as television, radio or theater. The HWOF currently lists 1,922 people.

You must first submit your name and address to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to become a member of HWOF. The Hollywood Department of Cultural Affairs then submits your information to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once approved, you receive a certificate of eligibility, which includes your name, date of birth, city of residence, occupation, and category. A bronze plaque with your name inscribed on it is also included. This plaque is attached directly to the concrete base, in front of designated stars.

You may apply to be a star if you are nominated by a HWOF member or if you make significant contributions to television, radio, TV, theatre, music or other forms of "popular culture". A committee evaluates the nominations and decides whether to approve them. If they do approve them, they send a note to the home address of the applicant stating their decision. The person who accepts the nomination will receive a second confirmation letter. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce then sends $25 to the City of Los Angles Department of Cultural Affairs.

The department issues an official check payable to Hollywood Chamber of commerce. This check is then sent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays artists or organizations whose applications were accepted. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce pays half of the $12.50 fee to the artist or organization. The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs gets the rest.

Once the artist receives his/her star he/she will be eligible to be inducted into the HWOF. To be eligible to list on the HWOF you will need to pay the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce all outstanding balance. The amount due is dependent on the number of years since you were first recognized. If you were first honoured in 1990, then you would owe $15,000. You'd owe $10,000 if you were previously nominated in 1990.

To remove yourself from HWOF, contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. They will help you pay the remaining debt. They will remove your name from this list.

How old must one be to get a HWOF star

Nominations are open to anyone over 18 years of age. A person must be present at the time of receiving a star. A star can be renominated after 10 years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

Your family members can nominate you for a star. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce can place a memorial marker next to the star, if there aren't any living relatives.

Why can't we just choose a different street and not have stars all over?

The HWOF doesn't intend to be historical monument. It is meant as a memorial to all who contributed to the history of film.

What happened to the stolen stars? The thieves took approximately 1,200 stars. Each star weighs between 250 and 300 lbs. This makes it approximately 4 tons!
