Is Hollywood larger than Bollywood?
Producers face the greatest challenge of making sure their movie is seen by viewers.
Problem is, there are many movies competing to people's attention and money. And if you don't stand out from the crowd, you won't have much chance of getting watched.
But what makes a movie great? What makes an actor famous? Or a director? It's not just talent - it's also luck. Even if you have the most talented actors in the world they won't be able to make it work if they write bad scripts.
When it comes to movies, there are two main types. There are big-budget blockbusters as well as small independent productions. Production and distribution of blockbuster movies costs hundreds of millions. They are typically made by huge studios who want to ensure that their movies reach a wide audience. However, these films with big budgets appeal mostly to older viewers.
Independent films are smaller-scale productions that may have to be financed individually or by groups of investors. These films usually target specific markets and appeal to specific tastes. These films are typically less expensive to produce and sell. But, they aren't necessarily cheaper to view. It is actually very difficult to find most indie movies.
The question is whether we need both types. Are we going to need both big blockbuster movies or small independent films? Hollywood is larger than Bollywood, in my opinion. That's because Hollywood produces almost twice as many movies per year as India does!
How much do actors make?
The average actor's salary ranges between $1 million and $100,000 depending on whether the film is independent or a movie. Most actors receive around $10,000 - $20,000 per film. Many actors do not get any compensation. It all depends on their success. Some actors are successful and make millions. Others struggle to find work.

How To
How to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Hollywood Walk of Fame (HWOF) was established in 1960 by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The HWOF is located in Los Angeles at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard. It consists of 2,711 stars embedded into the sidewalk along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents a person who has contributed to television, radio, theatre, music, motion pictures, or any other aspect of popular culture. The HWOF currently lists 1,922 people.
To become a member of the HWOF, you must submit your name to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which then submits your name to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. After being approved, you will be issued a certificate stating your name, date and place of birth. It also includes information about your occupation, occupation and category. You also receive a bronze plaque with your name engraved on it. This plaque is affixed to a concrete base in front of the designated star.
If you were nominated by an HWOF member, or if there are significant contributions made to the entertainment, film, radio, theatre, and music industries, you may be eligible for a "star" award. A committee evaluates all nominations and then decides whether to approve them. If they do, they will send a letter explaining their decision to the applicant at his/her home address. The second letter is sent to the applicant confirming acceptance of the nomination if the person accepts it. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce then charges $25 and forwards the money on to the City of Los Angles Department of Cultural Affairs.
The department issues a check payable the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which then sends the check directly to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays artists or organizations whose applications were accepted. The artist or organization then pays the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce half the fee ($12.50). The other half goes to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
After an artist has received his/her Star, he/she can be eligible for the HWOF. To be included in the HWOF, your balance must be paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due will depend on when you were first nominated. You would owe $15,000. If you were first Nominated in 1990, for example. For example, if your first nomination was in 1990, you would owe $15,000. However, if it had been in 1980, you would owe 10,000.
If you want to remove yourself from the HWOF, you need to contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and pay off the remainder of your debt. They will remove you from the list.
What age is required to become a HWOF star?
You must be at the least 18 year old to be nominated. To be eligible for a star, you must still be alive. One can still be nominated after receiving a star after ten years.
What happens if I die before my star gets put up?
You can be nominated by your family members to receive a star. If there are no known living relatives, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place the memorial marker in front of it.
Why not use a new street, instead of staring at everyone?
The HWOF does not intend to be a historical monument. It's meant to be a tribute to those who have contributed to film history.
What happened to the stars that got stolen? The thieves stole around 1,200 stars. Each star is approximately 250-300 lbs in weight. That's about 4 tons of stars!
