FAQ
Is Hollywood more important than Bollywood?
Producing films that are well-received is the most difficult challenge.
Problem is, there are many films competing for viewers' time and money. And if you don't stand out from the crowd, you won't have much chance of getting watched.
But what is the secret to making a movie successful. What makes an actor well-known? Or a director? Talent is not enough. It also requires luck. No matter how talented your actors are, if they have poor scripts, it will be impossible to get the job done.
Films can be divided into two categories: blockbuster films with large budgets or independent productions. Blockbuster movies cost hundreds of millions of dollars to produce and distribute. They're usually made by huge studios who want to ensure their movies reach as wide an audience as possible. But these big-budget films tend to appeal mainly to older audiences.
Independent films are generally smaller-scale productions that may be financed by individuals or groups of investors. These films are often targeted at niche markets and appeal to particular tastes. These films are typically less expensive to produce and sell. They aren't always more affordable to watch, however. In fact, most indie films are very hard to find.
Is it possible to have both types of films? Are we going to need both big blockbuster movies or small independent films? Hollywood is larger than Bollywood, in my opinion. Hollywood makes almost twice the number of movies each year than India.
How many films does Hollywood make in a given year?
Hollywood studios make approximately 3,000 films annually. Yes, that's correct, three thousand!
These films are marketed by Hollywood, which spends billions of dollars. They spend millions making them. They also spend millions on marketing them. How many of these movies do you think end up in theaters?
The answer is probably around 200-300. What happens to the 2,700+ other films? Well, most are either made as direct-to-video releases, or they just sit there gathering dust in storage vaults.
Some of them may not be seen. Some have been chosen for distribution via Netflix or Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and iTunes, Google Play and other platforms.
Why don't they get more? Why are they not released in theaters? They are too expensive for production.
They'd also be cheaper to produce and released in theaters.
That's where I come in. I will assist you in finding the best possible method to release your movie in theaters.
I'll show how to maximize your return-on-investment (ROI) as well as increase your chances for seeing your movie in theatres.
Let's face facts...
It can be very difficult to get your film in theaters. The process is long, complex and full of legalities.
It can also come at a high cost before you even begin.
You have a very short window in which to distribute your film.
There's not enough time between the moment a film is completed and its theatrical debut.
Is the Hollywood Walk of Fame a free thing?
Yes! Yes! For photographers, you need a permit. They cost $15 per head.
A valid ID is required if you are planning to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
If you're under 18, you must be accompanied at all times by someone 21 or older.
You can't enter the walkway before 10 am.
Once inside, you may not leave the walkway without paying again.
Cameras are not allowed in the walkway.
Does Hollywood make more money from foreign sales than domestic sales?
Yes, but not very much. Foreign revenues made up about 17% of total revenue in 2017. 83% of domestic revenues were generated in 2017.
In fact, more than half the world's people live in overseas markets.
Many people will want to see your movie even though they may not have the opportunity to watch it at home.
