Why is Hollywood calling it Hollywood?

D.W. Griffith created the first movie industry in California in 1887. It was named after its location in Los Angeles, which at the time was known as "Hollywood."

Because it was such a fascinating place, people kept coming back for more. People came from all parts of the country to see what was going on there.

Hollywood is still a big part of our culture. We have movies, television shows, music videos, commercials, etc. And we call them all "Hollywood."

Are Hollywood and Bollywood bigger than Bollywood?

Producers face the greatest challenge of making sure their movie is seen by viewers.

Problem is that many movies are competing for people's money and time. And if you don't stand out from the crowd, you won't have much chance of getting watched.

But what makes a movie great? What makes an actor or director famous? Or a director? It's not only talent, but also luck. It doesn't matter if your actors are the best in the world. But a poor script will make you lose everything.

And when it comes to films, there are two main types: big-budget blockbusters and small independent productions. Producing and distributing blockbuster movies can cost hundreds of millions. They are made by huge studios, who want to make sure their movies reach as many people possible. However, these films with big budgets appeal mostly to older viewers.

Independent films can be smaller productions funded by individuals or groups. These films focus on niche markets or cater to particular tastes. These films are usually easier to market and produce. But, they aren't necessarily cheaper to view. It is actually very difficult to find most indie movies.

So, the question is, do we need both kinds of films? Are we going to need both big blockbuster movies or small independent films? Hollywood is more important than Bollywood. Hollywood produces twice as many movies per annum than India.

Why don’t more filmmakers use crowdfunding platforms like Indiegogo, Kickstarter, and others?

Crowdfunding websites are great because you can reach potential investors directly.

But most filmmakers don't think they're qualified to ask for money. They believe they need another person to verify their claims.

Because they are still in their infancy, they do not believe that anyone should invest.

Instead, they spend months working on their project, hoping someone will eventually notice.

They realize that they did not prepare well when they launch their campaign.

They end up with only a few donations, instead of thousands of dollars.

It consists of 2,711 stars embedded into the sidewalk along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents a person who has contributed to television, radio, theatre, music, motion pictures, or any other aspect of popular culture. The HWOF currently has 1,922 listed living people.

Once approved, a certificate will be sent to you stating that you are eligible. This includes your name as well as date of birth and the city where you live. A bronze plaque with your personalization is also provided. This plaque is attached on a concrete base at the star.

A current HWOF member can nominate you for a star or if you have made significant contributions in movies, television or radio. A committee reviews the nominations and determines whether they should be approved. If they do, they send a letter to the applicant's home address explaining their decision. A second letter confirms acceptance if the nominee accepts the nomination. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce charges $25, and then the money is sent to the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angles.

The department issues a check payable the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which then sends the check directly to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays any artist or organization that submitted an application. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce pays half of the $12.50 fee to the artist or organization. A family member can nominate your name for a star. If no relatives are living, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce may place a memorial stone in front of your star.

Why not just have stars on every street?

The HWOF does not intend to be a historical monument. It is meant to honor those who contributed to film history.
